Basil is delicious, easy to grow in bulk and makes some pretty memorable meals. Here are some of our favorite recipes.
Fresh basil with its distinctive smell and delicious flavor is a versatile herb and firm favorite for a variety of dishes - from classic Bolognese to a herby twist in a cocktail, and more.
Since it really comes into its stride prodigiously in summer, it’s easy to accidentally grow a simply enormous amount. The best way to get a strong basil flavor is to stir it in, fresh, at the end, but that will differ per recipe.

This delicious and popular dish is great as a dip, stirred into pasta and eaten with cheese and crackers. It’s a fast way to use up a large amount of this herb and it makes fantastic gifts too - just store in sterilized jars and add a ribbon for a festive touch.
